Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data is collected when you use the Zonly mobile app, how it is used, who can see it and what your rights are.

Data we collect

Account information: Your email address and sign-in identifier when you sign in with Apple or Google.
Profile information: Display name, date of birth, gender, the gender you'd like to see, your photos, your "About me" text and your interests.
Location and check-ins: Your location and the status you pick (e.g. Coffee, Walking) are saved only at the moment you check in. Only you can see your check-in history. There is no background location tracking.
Interactions: Likes, matches, messages, blocks and reports.
Notifications: Your device's notification token, your notification preferences and the app language, so we can send you notifications.
Subscription status: Your Premium subscription is verified through RevenueCat. Your payment and card details never reach us; payments are handled entirely by Apple.
Error and performance logs: Technical logs linked to your account are collected through Sentry to detect app errors.

What other users can see

Your display name, age, photos, "About me" text, interests and check-in status.
Your location only approximately: it is deliberately offset on the map and your exact location is never shown. When your check-in ends you appear faded as "was here recently" for a while; if you remove your check-in yourself, you disappear right away.
Your email address, date of birth (only your age is shown) and gender preference are never shown to other users.

Data that stays on your device

For the Lock Screen (Live Activity) and Home Screen widgets, your check-in time, remaining check-ins and your like and message counts are kept only on your device. These never show other users' names or photos.

How we use your data

To show people near you and to show you on the map with an approximate location,
To provide app features such as likes, matches and messaging,
To send notifications about new likes, matches and messages,
To apply Premium subscription benefits,
For safety: reviewing reports, removing inappropriate content and operating blocking,
To detect errors and improve the app.

Your data is not used for advertising and is never sold or rented. We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Sharing with third parties

Data is shared only with providers needed to run the service: Apple (sign-in, payments and notifications), Google (sign-in), RevenueCat (subscription verification), Sentry (error tracking), Cloudflare (photo storage) and our hosting infrastructure. These providers may not use your data for their own purposes.

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account in the app under Profile → Settings → Delete account; this deletes your profile, photos, check-in history, matches and messages. If you signed in with Apple, Zonly's connection to your Apple Account is also removed.

Age requirement

Zonly is for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; such accounts are closed when identified.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) and other applicable laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data and to object to its processing. Contact us at the address below for any request.
